Welcome to the West Coast Kappa Car Club website.
We are a 501(c)7 non-profit¹ Social and Recreational Organization dedicated to the enjoyment and enhancement of GM Kappa Platform car ownership, focused primarily on the Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice roadsters built between 2006-2010.
Our activities, including liability insurance for Club events, are funded primarily by member dues (with event fees and member donations helping here and there). We also provide promotional materials at no cost to members, including stickers and decals, brochures, and informational cards for members to show off their Club membership and share the Club with others.
We welcome any Kappa driver to join us as a Guest on a run or event. You’ll be asked to sign a liability waiver and pay an event fee (usually $5 per car) to help cover club expenses.
Guests are welcome to join the Club at the prevailing dues, currently (as of July 2020) $20 per year or a discounted $50 for three years. If you join on the day of an event, your event fee for that day can be credited toward membership dues. Membership is good for at least the period paid (and up to a month more, depending on when you join). Your renewal date will be the last day of the month following payment of dues (i.e. if you pay on April 12, your renewal date will be May 31).
Current Members in good standing do not have to pay per-event fees, and can keep a waiver on file for a full year without re-signing at every event. Members also receive the Club newsletter through email periodically (at least monthly when activity happens, at least quarterly otherwise).
To join, fill out our Membership Application and Liability Waiver (PDF) and send your dues in following the instructions on the form. You can submit the forms by US Mail, photographed/scanned and emailed, or in person at a Club event. You may pay your dues in person at a Club event, by mail to the Treasurer, or via Paypal to the address on the form.
Our events are driven by club members. We’ve picked up the event volume since 2018 but the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 has slowed us down again. Stay tuned to this site and our Facebook page for more details on upcoming events.
Members are encouraged to suggest runs and activities, and to help research and coordinate the events that we do schedule. Contact a member of the board through Facebook or the Contact page here on the website if you’d like to help.
